Our Doctors
Dr. John Bouws
Dr. John Bouws, a life long resident of the Grand Rapids area, graduated from Calvin College and the University of Michigan Dental School. He served his country in the United States Public Health Service with the Merchant Marine and the Coast Guard. He has practiced in the same area for over 35 years. Dr. Bouws has been an elder and sunday school teacher in the Christian Reformed Church. He has served as president of the Kent County Dental Society. He was also selected as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists. Dr. Bouws and his wife, Beth of 36 years have four children and seven wonderful grandchildren. The family enjoys snow skiing, fishing, boating, and traveling.
Dr. Jeff Helmus
Dr. Jeff Helmus, also a life long resident of the Grand Rapids area, and Dr. Bouws nephew, graduated from Calvin College and the University of Michigan Dental School. He has worked at the Cherry Street Clinic in downtown Grand Rapids, and has also been appointed as adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan Dental School. Dr. Helmus is active in his church and in the local dental societies. He and his wife Rebecca have four children, Madelyn, Andrew, Sydney and Meredith. Dr. Helmus enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
